Introducing the New DenMat NV PRO3 Diode Laser

by | Jul 29, 2026

We are excited to introduce the newest addition to our practice—the DenMat NV PRO3 diode laser.

Our office uses five different types of dental lasers, each designed for a specific purpose. Some are used to prepare teeth, others perform soft tissue procedures, and another helps treat gum infections. The DenMat NV PRO3 is specifically designed to improve the treatment of gum disease and support healthier gums.

Understanding Gum Disease

Gum disease begins when bacteria accumulate along the gumline. In response, your immune system sends cells to fight the infection, causing the gums to become swollen, red, and inflamed.

If the infection is not treated, the space between the teeth and gums—called the gum pocket—becomes deeper. As these pockets deepen, the ongoing inflammatory response can begin to destroy the bone that supports the teeth. This loss of supporting bone is what makes gum disease such a serious condition.

Our goal is to treat gum disease before bone loss occurs. Once bone has been lost, we can slow the progression of the disease and help preserve your remaining bone, but we cannot fully restore what has already been lost. For patients without bone loss, laser therapy can help prevent the disease from advancing. For those who have already experienced bone loss, the laser is an excellent tool for improving gum health and supporting long-term stability.

How the DenMat NV PRO3 Works

The DenMat NV PRO3 helps treat gum disease in several important ways:

Removes infected tissue. Diseased tissue absorbs laser energy more readily than healthy tissue, allowing the laser to selectively remove infected cells while preserving healthy gum tissue.

Eliminates harmful bacteria. The bacteria responsible for gum disease are highly susceptible to laser energy, enabling the laser to effectively reduce the bacterial infection.

Minimizes bleeding and discomfort. As the laser treats the infected area, it seals tiny blood vessels and nerve endings, helping reduce bleeding, swelling, and post-treatment discomfort.

Promotes faster healing. Once unhealthy tissue and bacteria are removed, the body’s natural healing process begins. Healthy tissue can start replacing damaged tissue within 24 to 48 hours, allowing the gums to heal more quickly.

A Better Option for Preventive Gum Care

The DenMat NV PRO3 is an important addition to our preventive gum care program. While we have been able to perform similar procedures with our existing lasers, the specialized disposable tips required for those systems made treatment more costly than we wanted.

The DenMat NV PRO3 allows us to provide this advanced laser therapy more efficiently and at a lower cost, making it accessible to many more patients. We are excited to offer this technology as another way to help protect your gums, preserve your smile, and support your oral health for years to come.
